Vacuole

The Cell

Vacuoles contain substances from the rest of the cell. Incoming food is held in a vacuole until it is digested by a lysosome. Outgoing products are transported in a vacuole out of the cell.

The Kitchen

Pans are used in the kitchen to move food around. Incoming shipments may be placed in pans, and cooked food is served out of pans.

Both the vacuole and pans hold substances that their system needs. They both hold items entering and leaving the system.
