Flagellum

The Cell

The Flagellum allows the cell to move around its environment. It propels the cell forward with a waving action.

The Kitchen

Few kitchens have the ability to move. Some specially designed ones can be moved in a truck, like food stands in carnivals.  For this example, the engine in the cab of the truck would provide the power for movement. It would allow the kitchen to move in any direction in the world.

Both the flagellum and the engine in a mobile kitchen allow their respective system to move. They both enable their system to explore their environment.
